Tundra blocks distracting apps and websites behind deliberately strong friction, so breaking focus takes real intent. Here's help with the basics.
How do I block something?
On the home screen, choose the apps and websites to block, then tap the power button to turn blocking on. Blocked items show a shield and won't open.
How do I take a break?
Tap the power button while blocking is active and wait out the friction countdown. Leaving the app resets the countdown — that pause is intentional.
Blocking won't turn off — am I stuck?
No. Ending a session and loosening settings always go through a wait, on purpose. Complete the friction countdown and it will turn off.
Tundra asked for Screen Time access.
Tundra uses Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls to do the blocking. If you denied it, re-enable it in the iOS Settings app under Screen Time.
How is the extension different from the app?
The app blocks apps and websites on your iPhone. The Chrome extension blocks websites in your browser. They work independently — you can use either or both.
How do I block a site?
Click the Tundra icon in your toolbar, open Settings, then Blocked sites, and add any address. Turn blocking on with the power button.
Can I block part of a site?
Yes. Adding youtube.com/shorts blocks only Shorts and leaves the rest of YouTube working. Adding youtube.com blocks the whole site. Subdomains are always included.
The countdown keeps restarting.
That's intentional. The wait has to stay on screen — if you close the popup or click away, it starts again. It's the part that makes the extension work.
A site I blocked still loads.
Tabs that were already open when you changed your settings may need one refresh. If it still loads, check the address in your blocked list matches the site.
